This house is based on a particularly complex project idea both from a functional and aesthetic-architectural point of view. It is situated in a large monumental park next to an ancient spinning mill. The lot is an extraordinary design opportunity and at the same time delicate to balance with the existing structures. Due to the necessity to respect the existing buildings and the client´s wish to create views from the house to the old buildings (north side) and to the garden (south side), the new building has been designed as two corresponding parts of a box shifted in the middle. Due to this manoeuvre space has been created in the volume for stairs and corridors, that is visually in relation with the outside, offering natural light to the inside. The final result achieved is an architectural system capable of generating over 700 square meters of covered surface on three floors, shaping the overall volume in a continuous relationship between full and empty spaces, projections and inlets to let the surrounding greenery infiltrate, but still keeping the overall volumetry compact and rational.
