This private residence is the result of a radical restructuring of an ancient agricultural building typical for the Treviso countryside, whose overall grounds and volumes have been preserved as well as even the architectural proportions, as indicated by the client. This led to a work that is radically in the composition of interior spaces, combining a traditional taste with contemporary elements and solutions. Exposed beams, traditional plaster, bleached wooden doors and windows interact with burnished metal elements around the central body that draws the internal open space. Another example is a staircase-fireplace-seat system, in which functional and material elements merge into an element which generates around itself the kitchen space, the living room and opens towards the entrance area. The large open portico facing south gives natural light to all the interiors throughout the year and relates to the front garden by recreating, thus echoing the former traditional barn.
