Tabia | Caracoi

Tabià Caracoi’s project is the restoration and re-functionalization of an ancient mountain barn built more than a century ago in an Alpine village whose name and origins are linked to Venetian dominations in the Venetian hinterland. It is an exercise for a client who imagined a place of peace and listening to nature. The southern front of Tabià overlooks Monte Civetta with an extraordinary orientation, while the northern front nestles against the side of the mountain, wedged between similar buildings and a narrow access road that gradually turns into a forest path.
The project foresees the complete conservation of the wooden frame structure, creating a huge open space on three levels, which, like imaginary mosaics of a three-dimensional mosaic, contains a kitchen, a large living room and two bedrooms with bathrooms.
