in the countryside
This private residence is the result of a radical renovation of an old agricultural building typical of the Treviso countryside, of which the site and overall volumes were preserved as well as, as per the client's instructions, the architectural proportions, working more radically in the composition of interior spaces in which to combine a traditional taste with contemporary elements and solutions.
Exposed beams, traditional plaster, and bleached wooden window and door frames dialogue with burnished metal carpentry around the central body that draws the interior open space, that is, from a staircase-fireplace-seat system, in which functional and material elements merge into an element that generates around it the kitchen space, the living room, and opens toward the entrance area. The large beamed porch open to the south gives natural light to all interior spaces throughout the year and relates to the front garden recreating a balance son of the traditional farmyard.
